SERIES: FAITH THAT WORKS 03
Topic: FAITH IN NEIGHBOUR
*Text: Mark.11.25 – And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.*
Someone might question, what has my text to do with faith? You can’t claim to have faith in the creator of the universe and not have faith in His creation. And one sole way of expressing faith in his creation is by giving. Forgiveness is one of the most greatest form of giving. It’s true nature and definition I discovered in the course of this teaching is found in the word itself; For-give. To give in advance even to one who in no way deserving of it.
The Bible speaks of the coming of the king. When he comes he shall say to the sheeps at his right hand I was hungry you fed me, I was thirsty you gave me water, I was in prison and you visited me, I was naked you clothed me. And they questioned and asked him, when did we see you hungry, naked, in prison… he replied; if you had done it to this little ones, you did it to me.
God himself expressed faith in man and gave his only begotten son. Christ rebuked the Pharisees and Saducees for omitting the weightier matter *Judgement Mercy and Faith.
How many times have you heard a brother come crying to you for help, and you turn your back on him? James 2:14-18. We claim to have faith but looking at our lives in comparison to the lives of the heroes of faith, who practically lived their lives for others. They never lived a day for themselves. Time wont permit me to talk about father Abraham who interceeded for lot, and also went into battle to bring him out of captivity. Or of david who wept for saul and even went out of his way to look for mephiboshet. And uncle moses who left his wife and children to bring His brothers out of Egypt. Today we live for ourselves yet we say we have faith. If God demands faith from us, it that kind of faith expressed through the person seated next to you. If you ever want to touch God through your act of faith, touch someone by your side. For-give. In other words dont wait for him to ask. The king said; I was hungry… not you asked me. Faith is giving, and for-giveness, is an higher form of faith that crushes mountain. It’s Christmas a season we celebrate the giving and expression of faith. Enter 2023 giving and forgiving in expression of faith. Shalom
